Start your tour on July 3rd with an early check-in and time to relax before the evening event Tonight you will attend the "Boston Pops 4th of July Rehearsal Concert" (held every year on the 3rd of July) with a delicious summer barbecue served. The concert is an exhilarating experience where you will be able to see and hear the Pops perform live in preparation for the next night. This is the best way to see the Pops. After a good nights rest, begin your day on the 4th, with a BOSTON HARBOR LOBSTER LUNCHEON CRUISE. On this 2 ˝ hour tour you will see the USS Constitution aka “Old Ironsides” for a special photo opportunity. She is often tugged with sails flying and flags flapping to Castle Island for a 21 gun salute. (This is determined each year by the US Navy and will be confirmed just before the holiday.) The cruise includes a tour of the harbor while enjoying a bountiful buffet lunch including a BOILED LOBSTER for each guest. There is also musical entertainment onboard. This afternoon a visit to the JFK LIBRARY and MUSEUM is included. There is time for exploring Boston on your own in the later afternoon before heading back to your hotel for a festive evening. Tonight is the BOSTON POPS 4TH OF JULY CONCERT conducted by Keith Lockhart. Each year the Pops perform this annual concert. The grand finale is the 1812 overture, played in time with 4th of July fireworks, exploding with the music over the CHARLES RIVER! You will be able to walk the short distance to where the 4th of July concert can be heard or stay at the hotel, enjoying a live-broadcast, in air-conditioned comfort. Either way, viewing the fireworks could never be easier or more comfortable; just step outside your hotel and look upwards! Your last day includes a morning tour of HISTORIC BOSTON including parts of the FREEDOM TRAIL. You will also see OLD NORTH CHURCH and then it’s on to HARVARD, or Hahvahd Yahd as the locals say it, for a tour of the yard of this Ivy League University. In the late morning finish up your vacation with a tour of the USS CONSTITUTION and learn some Navy lore at the CHARLESTOWN NAVAL YARD. Lunch is on your own at QUINCY MARKET before heading home. This is a very popular tour and sells out each year. Please book early. First come first served.
